St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church was established in Tampa in 1871. Its first service was held in the hospital building at Fort Brooke. A wooden church was erected in 1883 on the city block bounded by Marion, Twiggs, Morgan, and Madison.

Originally from Kentucky, Coleman has lived in Tampa for the last four years. After completing his undergraduate degree in music education from the University of Tampa, under the direction of Dr. Ryan Hebert and Dr. Rodney Shores, he has been teaching elementary school music at Walden Lake Elementary in Plant City. Coleman first came to St. Andrew’s at the request of Dr. Rodney Shores, and he fell in love with the rich musical tradition here at St. Andrew’s. He notes, “It is a blessing and an honor to be able to make music both with and for you, and I look forward to continuing to do so.” Coleman is currently pursing his Masters of Music in Choral Conducting and Music Education at Florida State University, and will complete this in the summer of 2020.

The organ at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Tampa, Florida, was designed and built by C. B. Fisk, Inc., of Gloucester, Massachusetts.
