The Music Ministry at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is a dynamic and important multigenerational component of the life of our parish. The adult choir, the handbell choir, and the childrens’ choirs provide music at services and special events throughout the year.
Grounded in the unique Anglican heritage of the Episcopal Church, the central mission of our music at St. Andrew’s is to support the liturgy and enhance meaningful worship. The music repertoire consists of traditional hymns, canticles, psalms, and anthems. From chant and Renaissance polyphony, to Herbert Howells and other modern compositions, the music program at St. Andrew’s always strives for excellence in music selection and presentation.
The music at St. Andrew’s reflects the traditional scope of our liturgies while maintaining a close connection to our spiritual history and growth. From our regular Sunday morning service to occasional Evensongs, concerts, and special services, it is our hope that the music at St. Andrews will find special meaning to all who worship with us.
The Adult Choir, made up of dedicated volunteer singers and professional section leaders, provides choral music for the 10:30 service and special services throughout the year. The choir at St. Andrew’s is rooted in a strong work ethic and an unwavering adherence to excellence, but always in a friendly and supportive environment.
Membership is by audition to those with previous choral experience. Strong sight-reading skills, an ability to precisely match pitch, and a willingness to sing with a clear and mailable vocal tone are desirable. Regular attendance is required. New volunteer singers are always welcome!

The organ at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Tampa, Florida, was designed and built by C. B. Fisk, Inc., of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Opus 105 of the Fisk firm, the two-manual instrument has 28 stops totalling 1,581 pipes, housed in a case of quarter-sawn white oak. The organ is tuned in a slightly unequal temperament first developed by Charles Fisk for his largest instrument, Opus 78, at House of Hope Presbyterian Church, St. Paul, Minnesota. This temperament gives flavor to the common keys for the performance of earlier music, but still allows music to be played in all keys.
